A Schuylkill County woman is facing a felony retail theft charge following what police say is her thirteenth such offense.
On the afternoon of Oct. 16, State Police were called to the Sheetz store on Route 61 in North Manheim Township. While reviewing store surveillance footage, police say they witnessed Chiquita Stokes, 50, of Pottsville, getting out of the passenger side of a vehicle parked at the gas pumps.
Stokes reportedly enters the store and places a cheeseburger in her purse.
She is later seen leaving the store with a list of assorted items, including a bottle of Pepsi, a pack of Albanese gummies, a fountain soda, 13 Big Sipz drinks, 2 BuzzBallz, 2 Stumble Guys, a bag of Utz chips, and a pack of toilet paper.
The total value of the items stolen equals $100.16, store management told police.
Also on the video, police say it’s evident that Stokes is wearing an ankle monitor.
After checking her record, police say Stokes is currently on probation from Chester County.
Stokes is currently housed in Chester County Prison and will be arraigned on her retail theft charge from Schuylkill County on Monday.
