Schuylkill County Man Charged with First-Degree Murder of His Wife

Suspect remains hospitalized, tried shooting himself

Police have charged a Frackville man with first- and third-degree murder after they say he admitted to fatally shooting his wife inside their S. Center St. home Saturday.

According to an affidavit filed by State Police-Frackville, 56-year-old Andrew Peleschak called 9-1-1 shortly after midnight on Oct. 4, telling dispatchers he had shot and killed his wife, 55-year-old Natalie Peleschak, and then tried to shoot himself.

He told emergency responders he would be outside in the garage and that his wife would be found inside near the kitchen area.

Frackville Borough Police arrived at 222 S. Center St. minutes later and found Peleschak between his home and garage, bleeding heavily from a head wound. Shenandoah Area EMS treated him at the scene before he was flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for further care.

Inside the home, police discovered Natalie Peleschak on the floor surrounded by blood. A deputy coroner pronounced her dead at 2:17 a.m. Investigators said she had a bullet wound between her eyes.

A Colt 1991 .45-caliber pistol, a magazine, and several rounds—all covered in blood—were found on the kitchen table. Officers also located two .45-caliber magazines in one of Peleschak’s pants pockets.

When State Police later interviewed Peleschak at the hospital, they said he remained conscious and coherent despite his injury. He reportedly told investigators he had found messages on his wife’s phone suggesting she had been unfaithful.

Peleschak reportedly told police he shot her in the vagina and then shot her again in the head. He said his first shot surprised her before he fired a second round that killed her.

Peleschak remains hospitalized at Geisinger Medical Center as of Monday.

Charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and reckless endangerment are also filed against Peleschak.

Nat was my cousin, she will be missed. She was astrange from most of her family. She was further isolated the last few months of her life, by her husband who iced me from Nats life and took control over her phone.
