An arrest warrant has been issued for a Minersville man accused of assaulting a woman earlier this week.
According to court documents, State Police were summoned to a home in Mechanicsville at about 6 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, for a report of a domestic assault earlier that morning.
The victim of the alleged assault told police that, Kyle Putalavage, 37, arrived at her home earlier that morning and fell asleep. She said she left her home to avoid confrontation with Putalavage and stayed with a friend.
Putalavage then allegedly started texting the victim and indicated he was destroying her personal belongings. When the victim returned home, she noticed that Putalavage was gone as was something she needed for work.
Intending to get that item she needed for work, the victim and her friend went to a residence in Port Carbon where Putalavage was known to stay.
At that location, Putalavage allegedly began assaulting the victim, punching her in the head, pulling her hair, and kicking her while she was on the ground.
Police say when they went to the Port Carbon residence to speak with Putalavage, he was no longer there.
When apprehended, Putalavage will face charges of simple assault and harassment.
