A Schuylkill County man was jailed over the weekend after police say he held a woman down on a couch and bit her.
According to court records, police in Pottsville responded to a disturbance call on W. Railroad St. at about 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 14.
Police say that while they were responding to the call, a 9-1-1 dispatcher said the male involved was threatening to kill his victim and himself.
Upon their arrival, police say they heard arguing and yelling from inside the home on W. Railroad St. Police say they looked through a window and saw Jason Zvorsky, 51, holding a woman down on a couch. Zvorsky was told to exit the residence, which he did, and was taken into custody.
During their investigation, police say they spoke with the victim of Zvorsky’s alleged actions. She said that during an argument, Zvorsky became agitated and then physical.
He allegedly attempted to prevent her from calling 9-1-1. While holding the victim on the couch, Zvorsky allegedly bit his victim on the arm.
Police say the victim had teeth marks on her arm along with a black-and-blue mark and redness near the bite.
Zvorsky was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer and charged with simple assault and harassment. Bayer set bail at 10% of $5,000 and Zvorsky was sent to Schuylkill County Prison, where court records show he remains as of Monday.
