The BAAAhd Girls, along with a second team known as BAAAhd Company, are competing at the Bloomsburg Fair in the Fleece to Shawl competition.
So, if you haven’t heard by now who the BAAAhd Girls and BAAAhd Company are, now is your chance to see them live and in person at the Bloomsburg Fair.
These two teams are part of the Walk-In Art Center Fiber Arts Guild in Schuylkill Haven. They are sheep-to-shawl teams that take the coat (fleece) from a sheep and turn it into a wearable art form.
The teams of five members take the wool (fleece) from a sheep, prepare it, spin it, and weave it into a shawl—a complex and detailed process simplified into a few words: “Sheep to Shawl.” They accomplish this task in two and a half hours.
The teams will be competing head-to-head in their first competition of the season. Come cheer them on as they spin their way to victory.
The BAAAhd Girls sheep-to-shawl team came onto the scene last year as a rookie team and found success at both the Bloomsburg Fair and the 2025 Pennsylvania Farm Show.
Since January, the team has grown into two teams as they welcomed new members with their fun-loving, enthusiastic attitude. Some of the original BAAAhd Girls have moved into different positions on the team to accommodate new members. The flexibility of the talented members has allowed for the creation of two teams, with rookie members on both.
The BAAAhd Girls and BAAAhd Company are preparing for the 2026 Pennsylvania Farm Show Sheep to Shawl Competition. Teams must participate in one competition along with numerous public demonstrations to be eligible for the Pennsylvania Farm Show Sheep to Shawl Competition.
The teams can be found at the Bloomsburg Fair on Saturday, Sept. 20, in the small livestock arena starting around 1 p.m.
