British fine artist Mark Dickens, who currently lives in Abu Dhabi, will be traveling to Fighter’s Heaven for the “Thrilla in Manila” anniversary event on Sept. 27.
Dickens and Ali’s daughter Khaliah are currently collaborating on a special art project called “Fighter’s Heaven in Art”, which will pay tribute to Ali’s legacy and his special connection to his beloved training camp in Schuylkill County.
Dickens will give a brief update on the project’s status and the inspirations behind the project.
The art project will consist of 16 large mixed media creations, with one being sold for charity. The art collaboration, which is expected to be completed in 2026, will also include original Ali photographs by Jeff Julian and handwritten quotations from fighters, trainers, journalists, celebrities and others who knew and were inspired by Ali.
Visitors to the event will also have the opportunity to purchase, small one-of-a-kind Dickens artworks commemorating the “Thrilla in Manila”, with half the proceeds benefitting the charities supported by Fighter’s Heaven.
