Search Continues for Missing Pottsville Woman

McNellis last seen on Sept. 5 in the city

UPDATE: Police reported Friday that McNellis was found and is safe.

The search for a missing Pottsville woman continues this week.

State Police confirm they’re still trying to locate Rebecca McNellis, 45, of Pottsville. Earlier this week, a Missing Endangered Person Advisory was issued for McNellis.

McNellis has been missing since Sept. 5. The MEPA was issued on Sept. 9.

She was last seen wearing a leopard print headband, floral jogger-style pants, and a hoodie. McNellis stands 5-6 and weighs approximately 260 pounds. She’s got strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes.

Police say McNellis was last seen at about 10 p.m. in the area of the 700 block of W. Market St. in the city. McNellis may be a special risk of harm or injury and may be confused.

Anyone with information on McNellis’ whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 or State Police-Frackville at 570-874-5300.
