Vikings Designate Bartholomew to Reserve/PUP List on Cut Day

Must miss first four games of regular season

Must miss first four games of regular season

Blue Mountain grad Gavin Bartholomew was designated to the Minnesota Vikings Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on Tuesday.

Tuesday is the deadline for NFL teams to set their 53-man roster before the start of the regular season.

The Vikings selected Bartholomew in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft in the Spring but the former Blue Mountain Eagle and Pittsburgh Panthers tight end was unable to compete in OTAs or Training Camp for Minnesota due to a nagging back injury.

Bartholomew did not play in any preseason games for Minnesota.

By adding him to the Reserve/PUP list, Bartholomew stays with the Vikings but will be forced to miss at least the first four games of the NFL regular season. He does not count against Minnesota’s 53-man roster limit.

According to numerous sites that cover the Vikings, the team had hoped to slot Bartholomew in as their third tight end on the depth chart, behind TJ Hockenson and Josh Oliver. Ben Yurosek, an undrafted free agent out of Stanford and Georgia, is now Minnesota’s TE3.
