A Schuylkill County man was jailed last week after he allegedly threatened a woman with a knife after stealing another man’s phone.
Police in Shenandoah say they were called to a home on E. Poplar St. at shortly before midnight on Aug. 19 for a reported domestic dispute.
At the scene, police say they spoke with the alleged victim of this incident who said that she left her home after her boyfriend – identified as Isaiah Garcia, 21, of Shenandoah – became violent with her.
Garcia allegedly began throwing items around the room as he was accusing the victim of infidelity. He then allegedly began shoving the victim and grabbing her.
At that point, Garcia allegedly took a phone from the victim. However, the victim told police that the phone belonged to a friend. Garcia then allegedly showed the victim a knife and said, “This will be the last time we fight.”
Garcia was eventually arrested on Aug. 20 and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge AJ Serina. He was charged with felony theft, a misdemeanor count of simple assault, and a summary offense of harassment.
Serina set bail at $20,000 cash and Garcia was taken to Schuylkill County Prison. Garcia posted bond on Aug. 21 and was released. A preliminary hearing before Judge Anthony Kilker is scheduled for Oct. 2.
