Police Investigating Reported Rape in Schuylkill County

Woman said she was held against her will for two days

State Police in Schuylkill County say they’re investigating a reported rape.

According to information released by State Police-Schuylkill Haven, at about 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Troopers were called to a home on Well Drive in Barry Township. 

At the scene, a 32-year-old female from Philadelphia repored that she was at the residence with a 54-year-old man from Philadelphia. The female victim reportedly told police she was being held against her will and was raped over the course of two days.

The female victim said she contacted a family member who then contacted State Police. The male reportedly fled the residence on foot, taking the victim’s phone with him.

State Police say they conducted interviews and obtained a search warrant for the residence. Contact was eventually made with the accused male and he went to the Schuylkill Haven barracks for an interview and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.

An investigation into this reported incident is ongoing.
