Guilty Pleas Entered in Schuylkill County Court on Monday

Court action on Aug. 18

The following people entered guilty pleas in Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas on Monday, Aug. 18:

Jacob Powell, 38, Martinsburg, WV: Theft by deception – false impression (felony). Schuylkill County Judge Christopher Hobbs ordered a pre-sentence investigation and sentencing will be held in about 60 days.

Michael Frost, 63, Reading: DUI – controlled substance, Schedule 1 (misdemeanor). Frost was sentenced to 2-7 years in state prison.

Christopher Pate, 46, New Ringgold: Fleeing or attempting to elude police (misdemeanor). Pate was sentenced to 2-23 months in Schuylkill County Prison. He was ordered to turn himself in to the prison on Sept. 9.

Noah Shaak, 27, Pottsville: DUI – controlled substance, Schedule 2 or 3 (misdemeanor). Shaak was sentenced to 60 days to 6 months in Schuylkill County Prison and granted immediate parole.

Gregory Williams, 53, Ashland: DUI – controlled substance, Schedule 2 or 3 (misdemeanor), illegal possession of controlled substance (misdemeanor). On the DUI charge, Williams was sentenced to 3-6 months in Schuylkill County Prison. For possessing a controlled substance, Williams was sentenced to 1-6 months consecutive to the other term. He is to turn himself in to the prison to begin serving the sentence on Oct. 1.

Jessica Ludwig, 46, Mahanoy City: Corruption of minors (misdemeanor). Ludwig was sentenced to time served to 23 months in Schuylkill County Prison and granted immediate parole.

Jeffrey Anderson Jr., 36, Temple: DUI – controlled substance, impaired ability (misdemeanor). Anderson was sentenced to serve 90 days to 6 months of electronic monitoring to start Sept. 10.
