Schuylkill County Man Allegedly Terrorized Woman, Urinated in Refrigerator and on Dogs During Domestic Violence Incident

Raymond Flannery III held on $15K bail

A Schuylkill County man was jailed following an alleged domestic violence incident earlier this month during which he allegedly terrorized the victim, urinated in a refrigerator and two dogs, and had to be carried out of a home by police.

On Aug. 7, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a Trooper from State Police-Frackville was dispatched to a residence on E. Main St. in Girardville for a reported domestic incident.

The victim reported that her ex-boyfriend, Raymond Flannery III, 39, with whom she still resides, was under the influence of alcohol and methamphetamine and had caused damage inside the home.

She stated that Flannery began drinking around 4 a.m., engaged in a verbal argument with her, and refused to let her leave alone for an appointment.

When they returned to the residence, Flannery attempted to prevent her from entering, shutting a door on her leg in the process.

Once inside, she laid in bed with her two children. Flannery allegedly struck and slapped the victim multiple times in the leg. She then contacted Flannery’s father to pick up the children due to his son’s condition.

After the children left, Flannery reportedly grabbed her and threw her into various objects inside the home. The victim said this occurred about 10 times during the day.

She reported that Flannery threatened to kill her, urinated in the refrigerator, urinated on two dogs inside the residence, attempted to urinate on her, and exposed himself in her presence. She eventually left the home and called 911.

During her interview with police, Flannery exited the house, stood on the porch, and screamed incoherently multiple times. Police say they observed scratches on the victim’s arms and lower chest.

When backup units arrived, officers tried to contact Flannery inside the residence. He reportedly refused to answer the door, barricaded it with chairs, and locked it. Police forced entry through a side door and located him in an upstairs bedroom.

When they attempted to take Flannery into custody, police say he refused to walk and went limp, requiring officers to carry him out of the residence.

While in custody at the Frackville barracks, Flannery admitted to drinking alcohol since 4 a.m. and using methamphetamine that day. He made these statements voluntarily without questioning, police say.

Flannery was arraigned later that afternoon before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli and charged with numerous misdemeanor offenses, including making terroristic threats, simple assault, indecent assault, resisting arrest, and obstruction. Flannery was also charged with summary counts of harassment and cruelty to animals.

Tarantelli set bail at $15,000 and was remanded to Schuylkill County Prison, where he remains, as of Aug. 13. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 20 before Tarantelli.
