A Schuylkill County man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on child exploitation charges.
The indictment was handed down by a grand jury empaneled in Harrisburg, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Prosecutors say Craig Kimmel, 54, produced a “visual depiction containing the sexual exploitation of a child.”
Kimmel was previously convicted of indecent assault and attempted statutory rape. Those charges increase the mandatory minimum sentence Kimmel faces to 25 years if he’s convicted on the most recent alleged offenses.
Wednesday’s federal indictment further alleges that Kimmel used “coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in prostitution and any sexual activity for which he could be charged with a crime,” according to statement from the US Attorney’s Office.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Pennsylvania State Police investigated this case.
If convicted of all offenses, Kimmel faces the possibility of life in prison.
