A Schuylkill County man is facing charges following a drug raid of his residence earlier this year.
State Police filed charges in District Court against Brian O’Connell, 35, of Shenandoah, last week.
A search warrant was executed on his residence located in the 300 block of S. Jardin St. in Shenandoah back on April 25. During the sweep, police say they collected psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana plants, marijuana, unused foil packaging, and grow notes.
O’Connell was reportedly not present at the time police swept but a resident there said that all the items seized were his and that he was the sole caretaker of the marijuana plants.
That resident also said they believed that O’Connell had one customer.
Lab results from the items seized reportedly show that O’Connell possessed 111.77 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and 293.52 grams of marijuana. Police believe that O’Connell intended to sell these substances rather than keep them for personal use.
O’Connell was arraigned Friday morning before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker and charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Kilker set bail at $25,000 unsecured and O’Connell was released. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 7.
