Flood Watch Issued for Schuylkill County

Heavy rain from slow-moving storms likely today

National Weather Service has placed Schuylkill County under a Flood Watch for Monday afternoon through this evening. The Flood Watch goes into effect starting at 2 p.m. today.

Very heavy rainfall from slow-moving thunderstorms is likely. This heavy rainfall could cause excessive runoff and lead to flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

The pattern of very warm, humid air coupled with a chance of rain and storms continues into the near future, forecasters say.
