Cost of Annual Dog Licenses Going Up in 2026

The cost of an annual dog license is going up for 2026.

The fee for a regular dog license and for a senior or disabled dog license will go up by $2 each next year.

All dogs older than 2 months must be licensed. An unlicensed dog could result in a fine of $500.

In 2026, a regular dog license will cost $10.70. That’s up from $8.70 now.

The cost for a senior or disabled dog license will be $8.70, up from $6.70.

A lifetime regular dog license will remain $52.70 and for a senior or disabled dog license, the cost will stay at $36.70.

To qualify for a senior or disabled dog license, a person must be at least 65 years old or supply a letter stating a disability.

No discount will be offered for spay or neuter.

A physical address is required for a dog license.
