Schuylkill County Fugitive of the Week: Joel Kerestus

The Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office and Schuylkill County Detectives have named Joel Kerestus as their Fugitive of the Week.

They’re asking for the public’s help in locating Kerestus. Kerestus, 37, is described as standing 6-4 and weighing about 260 pounds.

Authorities say Kerestus failed to appear at Schuylkill County Prison to begin serving his sentence. The prison sentence resulted from three separate convictions of operating a vehicle on a DUI-suspended license, one conviction of driving while his license was suspended, and one conviction of causing an accident involving damage to a vehicle or property.

Kerestus also failed to appear for a Jan. 14 hearing on another driving while his license was DUI-suspended, and he was a no-show at a hearing on March 6 for a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police.

Kerestus’ last known address is 131 W. Maple St., Mahanoy City.  

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kerestus or any other fugitive in Schuylkill County, is asked to call the District Attorney’s Office at 570-628-1350, or Schuylkill County Tip Line at 570-624-3988. You may also e-mail tips to dadd@co.schuylkill.pa.us.
