A Saint Clair man wanted on felony kidnapping and assault charges out of Delaware was recently apprehended in Berks County.
According to State Police-Hamburg, 60-year-old John Bell was spotted on Route 61 in the area of Cabelas Dr., Tilden Township, at about 9 a.m. on March 7. Troopers had been searching that area for a vehicle matching the one they believed Bell had been operating, a burgundy Ford Taurus.
Troopers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, apprehending Bell. He was taken to Berks County Central Booking on Fugitive from Justice charges.
Authorities in Delaware have requested Bell’s extradition.
According to a report from WGMD.com, Bell was allegedly involved in an assault on March 5 in Georgetown, Delaware, and was wanted on felony kidnapping and assault charges.
