A Schuylkill County man is charged with stealing pizza and burgers during a recent incident of retail theft.
According to an affidavit filed by police in Saint Clair, the incident happened at the Walmart in the borough back on Jan. 29. Police were notified that David Brady , 49, of Saint Clair, had just left the store without paying for several items.
A canvass of the area came up empty. While talking with store management, police learned that Brady allegedly grabbed Uno Pizza and some hamburgers and put them into a gray Walmart shopping bag. He then went to the self-checkout and instead of scanning those items to pay for them, he only scanned an iced tea and left through the general merchandise exit of the store.
Employees attempted to stop Brady to confront him over the unpaid items. However, Brady then allegedly pushed a cart toward employees and ran out of the store. Brady allegedly has a previous retail theft incident dating back to April 2, 2024, at the same store.
Brady is being charged with retail theft and defiant trespass, both second-degree misdemeanors. A preliminary hearing before District Magistrate David Plachko is currently scheduled for April 1.
