Igloo Products Corp. has issued a recall on more than one million of its rolling coolers due to a severe injury risk to consumers.
The recall was issued on Feb. 13 and is specific to the company’s Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers. Affected coolers were manufactured prior to January 2024.
This recall is necessary because the tow handle can pinch consumers’ fingertips against the cooler, posing fingertip amputation and crushing hazards.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says it has received 12 reports of fingertip injuries, including fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations caused by the recalled coolers. Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled coolers and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle.
The manufacturing date on these coolers is printed on the bottom of the cooler in a circular pattern with an arrow pointing to the month it was made. The last two digits of the year the cooler was manufactured are located inside the circle on the imprinting.
All recalled coolers have a tow handle and IGLOO is printed on the side of the product. These coolers were sold in multiple body and lid color combinations. A table with the affected Model numbers is included below.
These coolers were sold at Target, Dick’s, Amazon, igloocoolers.com, and other stores nationwide from January 2019 through January 2025. They sold for between $80-140.
