Schuylkill County Woman Charged, Jailed After Fight Over Pepperoni

Bail set at 10% of 15,000

A Schuylkill County woman was jailed after police say she swung a knife near her boyfriend during a fight over pepperoni.

According to a report from State Police-Frackville, Troopers were dispatched to a home in Coaldale late Sunday morning for a domestic disturbance. When police arrived, they spoke with Alicia Blocker, 40, who told them that she and her boyfriend were in an verbal argument about relationship issues earlier that day.

Blocker told police that after the argument, she left the home. When she came back, her boyfriend threw a battery at her, she said.

As police were interviewing Blocker, the boyfriend arrived. Police then questioned him and got a different story. The boyfriend reportedly said that Blocker had been yelling at him all morning. He told police that Blocker left and when she came back, he was eating pepperoni at the kitchen table.

Blocker then allegedly grabbed the knife her boyfriend was using to cut the pepperoni. The boyfriend told police that with the knife in hand, Blocker swung the knife near him and hit the table with the knife. He said that Blocker said, “Don’t you eat my pepperoni,” as she swung the knife.

The boyfriend did admit to throwing a battery at Blocker but said it was in self defense.

Police then questioned Blocker again when she admitted to hitting the kitchen table with the knife.

Blocker has been charged with simple assault and reckless endangerment, both misdemeanors, along with a summary count of harassment. She was arraigned before District Magistrate Judge Edward Tarantelli on Sunday afternoon. Tarantelli set bail at 10% of $15,000, which Blocker hasn’t been able to post since her arrest.

A preliminary hearing before Judge Stephen Bayer has been scheduled for Feb. 25.
