Police in Schuylkill County are looking for a Tamaqua man who recently gave them the slip.
According to court documents filed by police in Tamaqua, they were on routine patrol near Cedar and Greenwood streets on Jan. 31 when they saw a man identified as Czar Founds, 27, exit a residence. Police say they were aware that Founds was wanted on a warrant for a parole violation.
At the time, Founds was wearing a red/blue hoodie, jeans, and pink flower sunglasses. Police say Founds walked left onto S. Greenwood St., going north. A Tamaqua officer yelled out, “Czar!”, but Founds didn’t acknowledge that. Police followed Founds until he made another left turn into a parking lot. When confronted and told about the parole warrant, Founds tried to run away and a struggle ensued, police say.
Founds then got on a bicycle and went south on S. Greenwood St. and then to Cedar St. From there, Founds went to an alley behind the Asia Star and onto another alley behind the Tamaqua Hi-Rise building. A police canvass of witnesses revealed that Founds went eastbound on Broad St. but a search for him came up empty.
A warrant for Founds eluding police was issued.
