A Georgia man was arrested Sunday in Schuylkill County for allegedly impersonating an FBI agent at a local auto parts store.
According to court documents filed by Tamaqua Police, they were called to the Advance Auto Parts for a report of a man inside the store claiming to be FBI and threatening to handcuff the manager.
Police at the scene were greeted by that manager who came out of the store yelling that the man – later identified as Gemini “G Money” Lake, of Decatur, Georgia – was still in the store. The manager also said that Lake had demanded that the store repair his vehicle’s battery.
Police say the manager said he couldn’t do what Lake had demanded because of “some technicality about professional service.” Lake then became irate and started yelling about him being an FBI agent. He even quickly flashed a badge and demanded that his battery get fixed.
Lake then threatened to handcuff the store manager. The manager responded by saying he didn’t care who he was and told him to leave. Lake refused to leave.
Police got an ID from Lake and on the top, it read “International Bounty Hunter Union. Eventually, they got Lake’s actual Georgia ID and that led to the discovery that Lake was wanted on a warrant for doing something similar in another area of Pennsylvania in October 2024.
Lake was arrested and arraigned before District Magistrate Judge James Reiley on Sunday evening, charged with a misdemeanor offense of impersonating a public servant. Reiley set bail at $20,000 and remanded Lake to Schuylkill County Prison. Bail was posted on Monday.
