National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory for Schuylkill County starting Monday evening, extending through Wednesday afternoon.
The Cold Weather Advisory was issued due to the potential for very cold wind chill values during that time.
Forecasters say wind chill values as low as -12 are possible. At -15 for wind chill values, hypothermia and frost bite are likely if skin is exposed to those conditions.
The Cold Weather Advisory goes into effect at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, and extends to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
Bitter cold air is following Sunday’s snowstorm, which dumped 6 or more inches on much of the area.
High temperatures of about 18 degrees are expected on Monday. Wind gusts to 25 mph are possible. Monday night’s low temperature is forecasted to be just 3 degrees. That’ll be the warmest of the days between Monday and Wednesday.
Tuesday’s high temperature will be 13 degrees with a low of 0. The high on Wednesday will also be 13 with a low of 1.
