A Shamokin man died Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Route 901 in Schuylkill County.
According to information released by State Police-Frackville the crash happened along Route 901 in Casss Township about 500 feet west of Owl Rd. at about 3:10 p.m.
At that time and location, a Ford Ranger driven by 52-year-old Keith Feese, of Shamokin, Northumberland County, was traveling west on Route 901, negotiating a right curve in the road. A Ford 550 truck was traveling east on Route 901, negotiating a left curve.
Police say Feese’s vehicle crossed into the opposite travel lane and impacted a driver-side utility box on the truck. This impact caused disabling damage to Feese’s vehicle, and it came to rest facing south in the eastbound lane of travel.
The driver of the other vehicle was able to pull off to the shoulder of the roadway.
Police say the driver-side airbag deployed inside Feese’s vehicle but he was allegedly not wearing a seat belt. Feese was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The other driver was not injured in this crash.
