Former Fugitive of the Week Now Facing Charge of Failing to Comply with Megan’s Law Requirements

A former Schuylkill County Fugitive of the Week apparently found himself in a little more trouble recently while he was at the grocery store.

According to court documents filed last week, police in Shenandoah were dispatched to the Boyer’s Food Market on W. Centre St. in the borough for a report of a man wanting to be taken to the hospital for medical issues.

When police arrived, they spoke with the man – later identified as Rashawn Primer – who said he wanted to see a doctor at the hospital because he hadn’t taken medications he needed in a long time. Primer also reportedly told police that he was recently kicked out of an address in Shenandoah.

Police say that as they were waiting for an ambulance to show at the grocery store, they learned that Primer had a warrant for his arrest. Primer, according to our reporting, was recently named as a Fugitive of the Week for failing to appear at Schuylkill County Prison to begin serving a 4-23 month sentence for theft.

Shenandoah PD confirmed with the Schuylkill County Detectives that Primer was going to be transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville. However, again before that ambulance arrived, police also learned that Primer was required to register as a sex offender related to an indecent assault conviction back in 2012.

The investigation then revealed that Primer had a Pottsville address on the Megan’s Law registry.

Primer is now facing an additional third-degree felony charge of failing to comply with the requirements of Megan’s Law.
