Friday night’s billion-dollar Mega Millions drawing has a sole winner. The winning ticket was sold in Cottonwood, California, Mega Millions announced following the drawing.
That winner won the jackpot worth an estimated $1.22 billion. The winner correctly picked the five white balls (3, 7, 37, 49, and 55) plus the gold Mega Ball (6).
Additionally, there were five second-tier winners of $1 million or more. Two of those tickets were also sold in California with the other three being purchaed in Arizona, Missouri, and Texas.
This was only the fourth Mega Millions jackpot winner in 2024 and it happened on the second-to-last drawing this year. A winner in New Jersey back in March also topped the $1 billion jackpot total.
The next Mega Millions drawing is New Year’s Eve and the jackpot resets to $20 million.
