The Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office has been called to the scene of a house fire in Seltzer, Norwegian Township, on Sunday evening.
Firefighters were dispatched shortly before 6 p.m. to 315 Minersville St. there for a reported house fire. They were met by a fully involved fire at that address, a duplex with both 313 and 315 going up in flames.
About an hour later, the Coroner’s office and a State Police Fire Marshal were requested at the scene.
Neighbors were able to rescue several pets from 315 Minersville St., telling The Canary several entries into 315 were made to get all animals to safety.
Staff with American Red Cross are at the scene assisting other victims. According to Patty Daley with the Red Cross, the organization is assisting two people from 315 Minersville St.
Pennsylvania State Police-Schuylkill Haven are in charge of the scene and investigation.
