“Well-Known” Urinator Arrested in Schuylkill Haven

Charges of indecent exposure and open lewdness were filed against Snyder.

A man known to police to be a serial public urinator was arrested last month on indecent exposure and other related charges.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Schuylkill Haven PD, a report was filed on Nov. 19 at about 3:30 p.m. regarding an older man peeing in public in the 300 block of W. Columbia St.

A witness to the urination told police he saw a man – later identified as Luther Snyder, 72, of Schuylkill Haven – stand up from where he was seated on a porch, pull his pants down, exposing himself, and then peeing on the side wall of an apartment.

The witness to this alleged incident said he drove down the road a bit and turned around. On his return to the area, the victim snapped a photo of the suspected urinator – not in the act, apparently – as he was walking west on W. Columbia St. That photo was then emailed to police.

He says other people likely saw Snyder allegedly relieving himself on that apartment wall that day.

Police say when they received the photo, they were able to identify the alleged actor as Snyder. In their complaint, police write, “It should be noted that the Defendant is well known by officers of this department from similar incidents and was easily identified.”

Charges against Snyder were filed before District Magistrate AJ Serina on Dec. 3. Police are charging him with misdemeanors for indecent exposure and open lewdness as well as a summary charge for disorderly conduct.
