Minersville Area Lions Club will host the Minersville Christmas tree lighting this Saturday.
The tree lighting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at The Historic Washington Hotel at 201 Sunbury St. Music and refreshments will be available and kids will have a chance to meet Santa Claus.
According to Mayor Sean Palmer, Minersville Area Lions Club brought back the tradition of having an official borough Christmas tree four years ago.
Prior to this year’s tree lighting, the Lions Club will make a toy donation presentation from the Brian Rich Jr. Memorial Toy Drive. The toy drive is a partnership between the Lions and Famous Reading Outdoors.
