GIANT Issues Recall on Nature’s Promise Organic Carrots Due to Presence of E. coli

The GIANT Company has issued another food recall.

According to a release from the company on Friday morning, this recall impacts Nature’s Promise Organic baby and whole carrots. GIANT’s supplier has notified it that these carrots may have the presence of E. coli bacteria.

The recall affects the following products:

  • Nature’s Promise organic baby carrots, 1 pound, UPC: 68826704735, with best if used by dates through Oct. 25, 2024
  • Nature’s Promise organic whole carrots, 1 pound, UPC: 68826705750, purchased between Aug. 14, 2024 and Oct. 10, 2024
  • Nature’s Promise organic whole carrots, 5 pounds, UPC: 68826705751, purchased between Aug. 14, 2024 and Oct. 10, 2024

GIANT says customers should throw out any products included in the recall. They can also contact Customer Service or bring a receipt to a store and get a full refund.

Anyone who experienced illness from these potentially tainted carrots should contact a healthcare provider. E. coli poisoning symptoms can range from the mild, like diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, to more severe symptoms like dysentery or hemolytic uremic syndrome. Symptoms generally affect a person 3-4 days after infection.

GIANT has one location in Schuylkill County at Cressona Mall.
