Ellie Holdrum recently cut the ribbon to celebrate the opening of something that’s been a dream of hers since childhood.
She’s the owner of Ethereal Hair Studio, at 1809 W. Market St. in Pottsville. Holdrum, along with city officials and members of Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce, gathered recently to tour the salon and cut the ribbon to open the business.
Holdrum has spent 14 years in the beauty industry. She graduated from Empire Beauty School in 2010 and then spent a year taking advanced hair classes at TIGI Hairdressing Academy in Soho, New York City. Holdrum later earned her Reiki Master certification.
Ethereal Hair Studio was created as a place for clients to unplug from the outside world and take a moment for themselves.
The business offers holistic and energy-based services, ritual hair crafting, and Reiki healing. It’s designed to be neuro-inclusive and sensory-friendly.
Ethereal is also a Green Circle Salons Certified Sustainable Salon and 95% of the salon’s waste is repurposed.
“This was always a dream of mine since I was a little kid. Getting to do this and having this whole experience and getting to build something that was an absolute dream of mine was, honestly, a super fun process. I have my familiy and my husband to thank for everything,” Holdrum says. “I just wanted to bring this to the city and let people enjoy and indulge and have a place that they could come and truly relax and not have to be rushed and not have to deal with overwhelming sounds and the typical hustle and bustle of typical salons.”
Ethereal Hair Studio is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and on Fridays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
