Two Homeless People Caught Inside Pottsville Apartment Building

Police in Pottsville have charged two homeless people they say were inside an apartment building and caught by the owner.

They say one of those charged even changed the lock on the door of the apartment where they were found.

Police say they were dispatched to a building on N. 2nd St. in Pottsville on Oct. 12 and met by the owner. The owner of 204 N. 2nd St. says she bought the property in 2020 and was in the process of starting to renovate it.

She said she brought her parents to the building to see what work was going to be done and found people inside the building.

Police say Sara Parry was leaving 204 N. 2nd St., who said Hector Lopez had a key to an apartment in the building.

Lopez allegedly told police that he made his way into the apartment where he was and changed the lock and that’s how he had a key to it.

Police say Lopez had mail and personal items in a room in the building and was allowed to remove those items.

Lopez and Parry are each facing a third-degree felony criminal trespass charge.
