Police in Minersville are still looking for one suspect in the Minersville General Store armed robbery.
Shynir Jeffcoat, 22, of Port Carbon, is one of the four suspects that allegedly participated in the Aug. 13 nighttime armed robbery at the convenience store located at North and N. 2nd streets in Minersville.
Za’ir Alvarez, 17, Adan Twigg, 20, and Edward Martinez, 18, all from Pottsville, were arrested within 24 hours of the robbery. Earlier this week, charges against each of them were moved to Schuylkill County Court at their preliminary hearings.
Jeffcoat remains on the lam. He’s believed to frequent the Port Carbon area.
Police say the suspects grabbed cash and merchandise from the store, including tobacco and vape products.
The investigation revealed that two of the suspects brandished BB guns during the robbery. After fleeing, they were apprehended following tips from confidential informants and surveillance footage. Police recovered stolen items and cash from the suspects, as well as the BB gun used in the crime.
Minersville Police are asking anyone with information on Jeffcoat’s location to call 570-544-6212. All information will remain confidential, police say.
