A Cass Township man is in Schuylkill County Prison after police charged him with having sexual contact with a child.
Robert Jobrey, 42, is facing numerous related felonies associated with such a crime.
A police investigation into Jobrey’s activity was opened back on Sept. 6 after Minersville police were notified of allegations against him. Borough police then passed the case to State Police-Frackville.
Police say Jobrey admitted to watching adult material with his victim and further admitted to having years of sexual contact with the child.
Jobrey also allegedly admitted to reporting this information to a church pastor.
The investigation also revealed that Jobrey allegedly communicated with his victim over Xbox and police say they’ve obtained screenshots of texts between the two parties.
Police say that church pastor, to whom Jobrey allegedly discussed his activity, was also interviewed as part of their investigation.
Jobrey was arraigned before District Magistrate David Rossi on Sept. 12 and remanded to Schuylkill County Prison on $250,000 bail.
Among the charges Jobrey is facing are:
- Indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old
- Corruption of minors
- Unlawful contact with a minor
- Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse
A Preliminary Hearing in this case is scheduled for Oct. 17 in Rossi’s court.
