A councilman in Saint Clair says there might be a hundred people walking from business to business in the middle of any given night there looking for the next place to play a Pennsylvania Skill machines.
Now, Norm Diehl says he wants to put an end to that.
On Tuesday, his fellow council members voted unanimously to instruct Saint Clair Solicitor Ed Brennan to work on draft legislation that would force businesses to turn off their Pennsylvania Skill machines at a certain hour every night.
“I want to just stop them at a certain time,” Diehl tells The Canary. “At two, three, four, five in the morning, we have a hundred people walking from business to business. If our bars have to close at a certain time, so should our casinos.”
Diehl says he’s been fielding an increasing number of complaints from residents, namely people who live near the establishments that stay open all night and have Skill machines inside. They tell him they’re bringing an unwanted element to Saint Clair, namely drugs.
“If I can stop them at a certain hour, I can alleviate a little bit,” Diehl says.
Although the draft legislation hasn’t been written, Diehl says he’s thinking midnight would be a good cut-off time for the machines to get powered down for the night.
“Midnight seems good. After 12, go home,” he says. “They can reopen them at six or seven in the morning.”
There will likely be opposition to this rule if Saint Clair is able to pass some type of ordinance that restricts when Skill machines can be operated. Diehl says he’s ready for it.
“I don’t care who I get blow back from as long as I’m doing the right thing for the town,” Diehl says.

Saint Clair, one of the nicer-looking towns in this weird area, with still many older folks, including baby boomers, left, has its problems, too; the landfill is the big one, the entire town smells because of it, and solid waste trucks are constantly going through town. Then you got the skill game drug-addicted people on the main street, So I guess this councilman is identifying the issues.

Yes this is totally a crap show, the ones that are open all hours have those certain people, who have no homes sleeping in them also, drugs are bad too, had a person sitting on my porch wigging out high on some kind of drug called the cop three times and out of town cop had to show up because St.Clair couldn’t even handle that!
