Tickets for sale online and at the event on Saturday afternoon.

Schuylkill County Brew Fest is this Saturday in downtown Pottsville.

This increasingly popular event is hosted by Pilger Ruh Brewing and Cousin Dave Entertainment. This will be the ninth time Schuylkill County Brew Fest will be held in Pottsville.

It’ll be the third time Pilger Rug Brewing has gotten to participate in the event as the business celebrates its 3-year anniversary this month.

Centre St., from Laurel Blvd. to W. Market St., will be closed for the duration of the event.

A total of 30 craft breweries and 12 home brewers will be on hand showcasing their finest products for hundreds of expected visitors.

VIP access for Schuylkill County Brew Fest starts at 1 p.m. General admission access starts at 2 p.m. and runs until the end of the event at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are for sale online and at the event. VIP tickets are $50 and General Admission is $40. For the price of admission, guests can get unlimited samples from all the brewers at Brew Fest.

A number of other vendors will be on hand for the event, too. And American Xcellence Wrestling (AXW) pro wrestling, of Orwigsburg, will also be holding its Red, White + Brews special during Brew Fest.

Also, Jeremiah Tall will be playing during Brew Fest. Right afterward, Big Ger will be performing at 7:30 p.m., followed by a ska show with three bands set to get Pottsville skankin’.

“Something for everyone” at Schuylkill County Brew Fest

On Friday night at Pilger Ruh, Cody Wiley will be performing at their downtown location.

Tyler Budwash, owner of Pilger Ruh Brewing, says the overall purpose of Schuylkill County Brew Fest is to turn people on to craft brewed beers and let them know of the company’s presence in downtown Pottsville.

“I don’t know if they’re necessarily scared of craft beer or when they hear the word ‘crafter’ they all automatically think of an old-school Pliny IPA,” Budwash says. “That’s not what it is anymore.”

Budwash says he hopes Brew Fest disposes of the old craft beer stigma.

“Come see what we’re about. We are pumping out really good lagers like hazy IPA sours,” he adds. “There’s something for everybody here.”
