A Schuylkill County woman is facing a series of charges after allegedly stabbing her mother in the scalp with a kitchen knife during an argument fueled by alcohol.
St. Clair Police say they responded to a call on the evening of July 16, at about 6:30, at S. Mill St.
When police arrived at the scene, they saw a woman in the kitchen treating a bleeding wound on her scalp with paper towels. They say they saw a large amount of blood upon their arrival to the home.
The victim in this incident reportedly told police that she got involved in an argument with her daughter, Lauren Davie, 32.
At some point during this argument, Davie allegedly pulled an 8-inch kitchen knife from a block on the countertop and allegedly attacked her mother with it. The knife attack caused a 3-inch laceration to the victim’s scalp, police say.
After police placed Davie into the back of their patrol vehicle, they looked over the scene and say they found a kitchen knife in a utensil drawer in the kitchen. The knife, police say, had hair on it that matched the color of the victim’s.
During the investigation into the incident, police say the husband of the victim and father of the alleged perpetrator said the two were drinking that evening and were visibly intoxicated.
Then, he said, a heated argument broke out between the two. He attempted to calm both down but was unsuccessful and left the house.
Davie was arraigned before District Magistrate AJ Serina that evening, who released on $25,000 unsecured bail. A Preliminary Hearing before District Magistrate David Plachko is set for Aug. 6.
That’s when Davie will answer to a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and misdemeanor charges of simply assault, possession with intent to deliver, and reckless endangerment.
A summary charge of harassment was also filed against Davie.
