Fur-iday Friends: These Cats and Dogs (and a Bunny, Too) are Ready to Come Home with You!

Let’s get Lakeland, Guppy, Willa, Walter, and Fred a fur-ever home right away.

It’s Friday and time once again time to meet this week’s Fur-iday Friends, our series that helps shelter animals in Schuylkill County find their new best friends.

We introduce you to a group of a shelter’s charming residents — cats and dogs — all eager to call yours their new fur-ever home.

Check back every “Fur-iday” and help these wonderful creatures find the love and care they deserve.

Here are this week’s Fur-iday Friends:

Lakeland

Lakeland is a super-friendly 1-year-old girl.

She came to Hillside SPCA as a stray. She’s fixed, up-to-date on her shots, and is negative for FIV and leukemia.

As we said, she’s extra friendly and will treat you as if she’s known you for years once she meets you. On recent visits to Hillside, Lakeland has followed us around the Cat House.

She’d make a perfect companion for a family with children.

Guppy

Guppy is a rambunctious, 6-month-old boy who really knows how to put on a show for anyone who will pay him any attention.

He came to the shelter with a full litter of kittens.

Guppy is extremely friendly and playful and full of energy. He’s been neutered and is up-to-date on his shots.

Walter

Walter is a very friendly 1-year-old Aussie mix.

He likes other dogs and loves to go for walks. Walter is very playful and will make fast friends with you once you meet him.

He’ll need to be fixed before you can take him home and if your home has cats, he’ll need to be cat-tested to see if he will get along with them.

Willa

Willa is about 1-year-old and is a very active Australian Shepherd mix.

She loves to play and go for walks.

Once Willa gets to know you better, she’s extremely playful.

She likes other dogs and can be tested for her tolerance around cats.

Willa would do best in a home with older children because of her energy level.

Bonus Bunny: Fred

Fred is a handsome 2-year-old lop-eared rabbit who was born at Hillside. He’s the last of his siblings that hasn’t already been adopted.

He’s not been fixed and is partially litter-trained.

Adopt a Pet at Hillside SPCA

Hillside SPCA is located at 51 SPCA Rd., Pottsville.

Visitation and adoption hours are from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. every day of the week except Wednesday. On Wednesday, you can visit these furry friends and many more from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

For more information on adopting pets from Hillside SPCA, visit the shelter’s website.
