The woman who was taken to Geisinger Medical Center-Danville on Friday morning following a vehicle crash in Minersville has passed away.
According to Minersville Police Chief Jeffrey Bowers, he received a call from the hospital this evening notifying him that the woman – identified as 86-year-old Dolores Ostrowsky, of Pottsville – has died.
At about 9 a.m. on Friday, the deceased was a passenger in a pickup truck that crashed into the back of a bus owned by Geisinger Health.
Ostrowsky was extricated from the vehicle and flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where she passed away.
The driver of the truck – her husband, 85-year-old Joseph Ostrowsky, of Pottsville – suffered moderate injuries, according to police.
In new information released to The Canary, there was a passenger aboard the Geisinger bus, who was attended to and removed from the vehicle by Geisinger employees, while first responders were working to remove Ostroysky from the pickup truck.
The crash remains under investigation.
