Gross.

We can expect some truly disgusting weather today in the coal region. Even fans of the heat truly can’t be fans of what we’re in for on Tuesday.

High temps will reach into the mid-90s and join forces with some awfully muggy air in the process.

There’s a slight break in this heat on tap for Thursday but then the heat returns for this weekend and into next week again.

Here’s the latest 7-day forecast for Pottsville from National Weather Service …

Tuesday: 🌤️⚡ A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms develops after 2pm under partly sunny skies. It will be hot with a high near 93°. A calm wind in the morning will pick up to around 5 mph from the southwest by afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 20%. HEAT ADVISORY from Noon until 8 p.m.

Tuesday Night: 🌧️⚡ Showers and thunderstorms become more likely after midnight. Expect mostly cloudy skies and a low around 73° with a light east wind. The chance of precipitation increases to 30%, with mostly light rainfall, although thunderstorms could bring heavier amounts.

Wednesday: 🌧️⚡ The day starts with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, intensifying to more likely showers and possible thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly cloudy with a high near 91°. Winds remain calm, becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon, with gusts up to 20 mph. The chance of precipitation jumps to 70%, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch possible.

Wednesday Night: 🌧️⚡ Showers and thunderstorms are likely before 8pm, continuing intermittently through the night. Expect a low around 70° with a consistent south wind around 7 mph. The chance of rain is high at 80%, with substantial rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Thursday: 🌤️⚡ There’s a continued chance of showers and thunderstorms under partly sunny skies, with a high near 86°. The chance of precipitation is at 50%, with potential for both light and heavier bursts in thunderstorms.

Thursday Night: 🌧️ A chance of evening showers prevails, with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 68°. The chance of precipitation holds at 50%.

Friday: 🌤️🌧️ Partly sunny with ongoing chances of showers throughout the day. The high will be cooler, near 82°, with a 50% chance of rain.
