US Rep. Dan Meuser (PA-9), who represents Schuylkill County in Congress, issued a statement firmly backing President Donald Trump after last night’s first Presidential Debate.
Last night’s debate was hosted by CNN in Atlanta.
There was no live audience in the room for the debate. The 90-minute debate featured only the two presumptive nominees from the two major political parties in the 2024 race for the White House.
The debate’s topics ranged from the economy to abortion to foreign policy to … golf handicaps, oddly.
In his statement, Meuser, who unquestionably backs Trump in the upcoming election, says the debate showed a contrast between “strength in leadership” and a “failed leader”.
Here is his full statement on the debate:
“Tonight’s debate was a clear display of strength in leadership versus weakness in a failed leader. President Donald Trump demonstrated in front of tens of millions of Americans across this great nation why he should and will be the 47th President of the United States. President Trump outlined a message of strength for America, an America First message, with a strategic vision for our country for the next four years. He made it clear that he will bring strength back to our national security, re-establish energy dominance, and re-implement border security. His plan is about pro-growth initiatives for our economy and he embodies the leadership qualities to bring peace and stability to the world. President Biden on the other hand, could not defend his failed record. His failures on national security, the economy, and on the world stage have weakened us and were on full display tonight.
We have a very clear choice in this election, do we want a strong America and strong leadership, or a declining America, with weak, incoherent leadership. In order to be a strong nation, we must have a strong president with policies that make sense and are in the best interest of ALL American citizens. We do not need a divider in chief, we need a Commander in Chief, and that is what President Donald J. Trump will be.”
