Tamaqua Summerfest is This Sunday

Scenic train rides, bus tours, historic attractions, and plenty of vendors.

The 33rd Annual Tamaqua Summerfest is this Sunday, June 16.

The day features an all-new festival format. Summerfest runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. in downtown Tamaqua.

Crafters, street vendors, food vendors, and more will be on both sides of S. Railroad St. between W. Broad and Spruce streets. The street will be closed to traffic so visitors can walk down the center of the street.

Summerfest will also have some historical and attractions. You’ll have a chance to check out Tamaqua Railroad Station, Tamaqua Historical Society Museum, 1848 Hegarty Blacksmith Shop, Tamaqua Wagon Works Museum, and Tamaqua Anthracite Model Railroad Club.

Scenic train rides, each 70 minutes long, from Reading and Northern Railroad will depart the Railroad Station at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Lehigh Anthracite mining bus tours will run at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.

Train tickets can be purchased on Sunday at the Railroad Station. Bus tickets can be purchased where the bus will depart, in front of Tommy’s Italian Restaurant on N. Railroad St.
