Travis Blankenhorn (Pottsville Area) – Outfield, Rochester Red Wings
Blankenhorn swatted his seventh home run of the season in a Red Wings game on Sunday against the St. Paul Saints (Twins).
In a game on Tuesday, he went 2-for-6 at the plate with a double and RBI.
On the week, Blankenhorn went 5-for-20 (.250) at the plate with 4 RBI.
For the season, Blankenhorn is leading his team in home runs and RBIs and is tied for fourth in the entire International League in homers.
This week, the Red Wings are at home for a series with Syracuse (Mets).
Reggie Crawford (North Schuylkill) – Pitcher, Richmond Flying Squirrels
Crawford appeared in a pair of games last week for the Flying Squirrels in their series against the Bowie Baysox (Orioles).
He picked up his first win of the season on Wednesday, throwing 1 inning. He did allow a solo home run but struck out 2 batters to get the W.
Two nights later, Crawford allowed 2 hits and 3 runs (only 1 earned) and surrendered another homer while taking the loss.
In his two outings last week, Crawford struck out 4 and walked 1.
So far this season, he’s got a 3.60 ERA over 5 innings pitched in 4 games. Crawford has struck out 8 and walked 3.
This week, the Flying Squirrels are on the road for a series with the Akron Rubber Ducks (Guardians).
Joe Nahas (Marian Catholic) – Pitcher, South Bend Cubs
Nahas picked up his second save of the season in a Cubs win over Quad Cities on April 26. He worked 1 inning, allowed 1 hit and struck out 1 batter to close out the game.
On Sunday, Nahas threw 2.1 innings, allowed just 1 hit and struck out 2.
This week, South Bend is on the road for a series with the Lansing Lugnuts (A’s).
