Bill Mack, a social studies teacher at Schuylkill Technology Center-North Campus, was recently honored with the 2024 Elbert K. Fretwell Educator of the Year award at a breakfast ceremony on April 26.
The award is given by Hawk Mountain Council BSA.
“Mr. Mack was chosen for his exceptional teaching skills, ability to foster leadership skills in his students and his tireless community service,” says Shannon Brennan, STC Director.
Mack has a Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and a Master’s degree from Bloomsburg University. He’s currently pursuing a Principal’s certification from Alvernia University.
Mack’s teaching career began 16 years ago at North Schuylkill School District before he moved to STC.
In addition to his teaching duties, Mack has also served as District President and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for Pennsylvania Elks Association. Mack’s also held leadership roles with Protective Order of Elks, Number 1533.
He is also STC SkillsUSA Advisor.
Mack and his wife, Holly, have a daughter, Laynie.
