Typically, we can’t have nice things in Schuylkill County.
For instance, any time we’d be looking at the potential of seeing some phenomenon in the sky, we’re often greeted by the cloudiest day you could possibly imagine.
So, that would lead us to believe that today’s solar eclipse would be a total dud and we’d just look at the sky and not see the moon pass in front of the sun.
Well, that’s not going to happen … the clouds, that is. The eclipse is definitely going to happen, or at least that’s what they say.
National Weather Service says it’ll be a mostly sunny day here with a high temperature at or near 60°. That should mean you’ll have no trouble viewing the solar eclipse here.
However, in the path of totality, west of here, that’s not the case. A large portion of the path where there will be a total solar eclipse will be shrouded in cloud cover this afternoon.
So, we may get a better view of the eclipse – even if it’s not quite a total eclipse – than those who traveled for miles and miles just to get a glimpse.
