Schuylkill County Unloading Surplus Vehicles

March is apparently Truck Month at the Schuylkill County Courthouse.

The County is selling what it’s calling some “surplus” vehicles.

These vehicles will be sold in April to the “most responsive bidder,” which we’re assuming means, “the highest bid.”

The County advertised these vehicles on March 2 and again today (March 6). 

Vehicles are being put up for bid in as-is condition. 

Bids on these vehicles are to be submitted to the County Controller’s office and are due by April 1 at 4 p.m. They’ll be publicly opened on Wednesday, April 3, at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Board Room at the Courthouse.

The vehicles being sold by the County have been used by various government offices.

Here’s a look at the vehicles up for grabs with a bit of a used car salesman’s touch (we can assure you the year, make, model, and mileage is accurate, at least what the County is saying about them):

2011 Ford Crown Victoria – Sheriff – 93,582 miles

“Alright folks, feast your eyes on an ex-Sheriff’s beauty, a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria! It’s got a respectable 93,582 miles on the clock. This ain’t just any old car, it might have a history of chasing down the baddies. Imagine the stories it could tell! Don’t miss out on owning a piece of the action!”

2007 Dodge Durango – District Attorney – Unknown mileage

“Have I got a deal for you! This 2007 Dodge Durango used to chauffeur around the big wigs from the District Attorney’s office. It’s got that executive presence, minus the executive price tag. Sure, the mileage is a mystery, but with a ride this grand, who’s counting? Act fast, and you can be the DA of your neighborhood!”

2000 Ford Ranger XLT – Public Works – 100,390 miles

“Ladies and gents, here’s a rugged companion that’s seen some things – a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT from Public Works. She’s got 100,390 miles and probably plenty of life left in her. This ain’t a city slicker’s truck – it’s built Ford tough for the hard-working soul!”

2007 Chevrolet Silverado K2500 – Real Estate – Unknown mileage

2008 Dodge Charger – Sheriff – Unknown mileage

2008 Ford Expedition – Sheriff – Unknown mileage

“Need to expand your horizons? Check out this 2008 Ford Expedition. It’s big enough for your family, your dog, and the neighbor’s dog too. Ex-Sheriff means it’s probably been cared for like a prized stallion. Don’t wait, saddle up and ride off into the sunset!”

2001 Dodge Durango – Commissioners – 125,000 miles

“Come on down and take a gander at a 2001 Dodge Durango! Previously used by the County Commissioners, this SUV has clocked in 125,000 miles of bureaucratic bliss. It’s perfect for those who want a touch of class without the wallet whiplash!”

2008 Ford Crown Victoria – Adult Probation – Unknown mileage

“And here we have a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria. Sure, it’s from Adult Probation, but this car’s only crime was being too reliable. She’s looking for a good home and a new life!”

2010 Ford Sedan – Adult Probation – 102,266 miles

“Folks, what we have here is a 2010 Ford Sedan from Adult Probation. Just over 102,266 miles and still running like a dream. She’s been good, and if you treat her right, she might be the most dependable date you’ve ever had!”

2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee – District Attorney – 126,500 miles

1997 Ford F 250 – Parks and Recreation – Unknown mileage
