Man Found Dead Near Frackville

Police say they’re currently investigating the death of a man found today in Schuylkill County.

According to information just released by State Police-Frackville, at about 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, police were dispatched to the area of 700 Altamont Blvd., West Mahanoy Township, for a report of a dead man found near Central Highway Oil.

Police say the man was found in a wooded area near that location.

The deceased is simply described as a black male at this time.

PSP-Frackville’s Criminal Investigation Unit is currently investigating this death. The Troop L Forensic Services Unit and the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office also assisted in the investigation so far.

The investigation is ongoing as of the release of this information but police say they believe there is no threat to the public.
