Country music star Lee Brice will once again be the headline act at the 2024 Yuengling Stars & Stripes Summer Celebration in Pottsville this July.
DG Yuengling & Son made the announcement on Wednesday that Brice, who was the headline act at the day-long event in 2022, will be returning as the historic brewer celebrates its 195th anniversary.
“Headlining Yuengling’s Stars & Stripes Summer Concert is one of the highlights of our touring season. I’m eager to be part of 195 years of Yuengling history and rock with Yuengling fans in Pottsville to celebrate America, our veteran community, and Team Red, White & Blue,” Brice, who serves as a Yuengling brand ambassador, says in a statement.
The Yuengling Stars & Stripes Summer Celebration is set for July 13. The free event – including the concert – is held in conjunction with Pottsville Area Development Corp. The event is part of the brewery’s support for Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB), a non-profit organization that supports military veterans’ health and wellness.
“What could be better to highlight our Stars & Stripes Summer Celebration than the return of Lee Brice to Pottsville, on the 195th day, of the 195th year of Yuengling brewing great beer for every taste. Yuengling is honored to partner with PADCO and Team RWB to support veterans, while creating a special day for our local community,” says Debbie Yuengling, 6th generation family member of D.G. Yuengling & Son.
The day-long event encompasses much of downtown Pottsville, including 3 performance stages: Yuengling Brewery Stage on Mahantongo St., Arch St. Stage at Arch St. and Progress Ave., and the Main Stage at Laurel Blvd. and Progress Ave.
Thousands flocked to the city in 2022 when the Summer Celebration made its return after a three-year hiatus. The first Summer Celebration event was held in 2019 when 90s alt-rock band Better Than Ezra was the headline act.
PADCO Executive Director Savas Logothetides says, “With the success of the most recent 2022 celebration, we all have high expectations to once again bring this larger-than-life event together for our community. Lee Brice attracts music fans from all around the East Coast, so it’s a fantastic opportunity to bring together both our local community, and visitors from across the region, to enjoy a great day of family fun, and experience all that Pottsville has to offer.”
Local artisans and food vendors will fill the event venue, which stretches from Mahantongo St. to Progress Ave. in Pottsville. Following the free Brice concert, the event concludes with a fireworks display put on by the City of Pottsville.
