National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Schuylkill County with up to 3 inches of rain expected to fall between Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.
The Flood Watch is in effect from Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday afternoon, January 10.
In addition to the heavy rain expected, flood conditions could occur due to snow melting. Schuylkill County received at least 6 inches and up to 10 inches of snow in some parts on Saturday.
That snow has saturated the ground and with the heavy rain, runoff could lead to flooding, especially in flood prone areas and locations with poor drainage.
There is also a Wind Advisory in effect during the time of this Flood Watch, with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
That combination of conditions could also lead to power outages.
